I am not unhealthy but I have inherited my mom's 'red face' thing. I get really hot and red in the face after only a bit of jogging so I can usually only jog 1.5miles which is fine because I am not over weight. But a few days back I injured my foot and I can't jog so today I got on the exercise bike and did 20kms (dunno the miles) compared to 2kms that I do in running.
Sure, I got puffed and I stretched after every 5kms but I wanna know if it will benefit me as much as jogging because jogging helps me to keep everything aa little thin but I dunno if the exercise bike just works the calves 'cuz it doesn't feel like it does anything for my thighs or anywhere else?
Biking tends to work on the calf muscles and the thighs. This is fine if you are otherwise healthy and not overweight. However jogging is a more wholesome exercise, though you can substitute it with other activities like swimming, biking, aerobics, yoga etc, till your foot heals.
Hope this was useful.
Take care!
