Over stressed heart

I am 48 years old. I believe that I am in relatively good shape. I have been running 3-4 miles M-F, without fail, for the past 2 1/2 years. In the past I have run long distances, including both half marathons and a full. Lately though, my heart beats extremely fast and I get light headed and dizzy if I engage in heavy incline running, or if I leap, jump or bend down and back up suddenly. I have begun wearing a heart monitor when I run. My average heart rate is 142. My resting heart rate is about 65. When I run fast (for me this is a 7:30 minute mile), my heart rate goes up to 152, which I think is fine. I am concerned though about my heart at other times. Why does my body react abnormally when engaged in high incline running, jumping or bending exercises?

Sounds like your blood pressure is having a hard time equalizing back out.  Get your BP checked while sitting, and laying down.  See if there is a big difference.

Hello!

All the heart rates values mentioned by you are fine and normal.

Your heart rate will increase with any form of exercise or cardio.

Climbing a mountain or high incline running and jumping are high intensity exercises so your heart rate will increase further.

I would suggest you to check all your vitals including blood pressure, blood haemoglobin and get an ecg done to rule out any arrythmias.

Take care!

You may have imbalanced electrolytes (Magnesium, Potassium, Calcium, Sodium).

You may benefit from taking a magnesium supplement.

Some of the safer and more effective forms include: Taurate, Glycinate, and Citrate (latter can be laxitative, so take with food).
