What's The Most Effective Way To Lose Fat

Hi. I am on a quest to lost some weight. I have been overweight for some time and peaked at around 275. I am currently 250. My exercise routine consists of weight training and biking (stationary) for 20 miles 2-3 times a week.  I have seen minor differences in my body, such as lost inches on the waist. But lately, it has been hard to lose the weight...I'm staying around 250.  I want to focus primarily on losing the fat. I'm already pretty strong (bench 275) and don't really need to get stronger. My goal now is to just lose the weight. My short term goal is 225...my long-term goal is 200.  What should I do differently? Should I focus just on cardio? I read articles that say that weight training is essential because it builds muscle, which helps burn fat. Also, I read that a strenuous workout can actually increase your metabolism for up to 36 hours.  I also watch what I eat. However, I have to be honest and say that I do not eat a lot of vegetables because I don't like them.  I try to drink about 80 oz of water per day.

Any advice would be helpful.  Thanks!

cutting resistance exercise may help you shed actual pounds but if you would rather convert fat to muscle you will need resistance training.

Hi,

You can stick to protein-rich foods and eliminate nearly all fat and limit carbohydrate intake to lose weight.
When your body finds that it does not have any carbohydrate easily available to it, it will start breaking down the fat to get energy and ends up burning more calories in the process.

You should be careful to include carbohydrates in your diet so that you do not end up developing a carbohydrate craving resulting in binge eating.

Vegetables and fruits do aid weight loss, but if you find them difficult to incorporate in yor diet you can stick to high fiber foods that contain bran or are made of whole grains.
Cutting down on your sugar intake will also help.
Limitimg meat intake to white meat (chicken or fish) and settling for low fat preparations will aid weight loss.
You will also need to cut down on resistence exercises if trying to lose weight.

Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
Regards
