Well, I'm not an expert, but I know that carbs are an important part of the diet. There are three types of carbs.(fiber, starch, and sugar) All carbs are four calories per gram, but sugar holds no nutritional value, so if you consume a lot of sugar you may meet your caloric(energy) needs, but your body is still starving for nutrients and as a result you consume more and add the calorie surplus to your reserves. (fat) So, in my opinion, if you're trying to use your reserves, it's important that you try and avoid high sugar intake, but the other carbs are fine.
Thanks for your kind feedback but still I didn't get what i am looking for lets put it in other way...
While selecting my food what should I consider carbs or calories and note that I'm not consuming sugar at all but 0 cal. sweetener.
Thanks once again.
Calories is a measurment for energy. We use it to measure how much energy is available in the food we intact and how much energy we use when doing activities. Carbohydrates are a part of the food we eat just like protien and fat. Carbs are high in energy. The goal with weight loss is to create a deficit so you want to use more calories each day than you intake. You will here about lots of low carb diets and this is usually because they are packed with calories and if not used will turn to sugars in your body. With that being said complex carbs can be very benificial, but in your case if you want to drop the pounds lower your calorie intake and cut out carbs as much as possible some bad sources of carbs are bread, potatoes, and white rice.
many thanks for such a comprehensive mail.
My overall calories intake is usually less than 1500 cals. but I am not keeping eye on my carbs intake however I am not eating potatoes, rice and noddles etc but brown bread, is that ok...?
Thanks
Have you calculated your actual calorie needs for a day's time? This is based on your current height, weight, age and activity level.
1500 calories doesn't sound like nearly enough for someone your size and if you don't eat enough calories, your body will go into survival mode and hold onto current fat stores.
thanks, yes I did calculate my BMI and the advised calories was 1875 - 2411 but I thought to shed weight fast lets consume only 1500 cals... :(
can you please explain me more "why i should not consume less calories"?
Thanks.
Consume wraps they are high fiber low cal and ur not hungry. Always eat high fiber it helps allot and it's healthier
Be careful on cutting out the carbs especially if partaking in exercise. Although carbs have a high calorie content , when these are cut out it there for results in a larger proportion of your energy being derived from fats which in the long term could have implications to health and increase levels of LDL cholesterol. I personally would advise to just be more selective with carbohydrates choosing those that are complex and slower to digest. This will result in a more sustained level of energy and prolong satiety . In the long term it could also decrease the risk of onset of type two diabetes .
If you consume too few calories for one it would be extremely uncomfortable . And two your body will go into starvation mode and utilise more protein rather than fat ... So say goodbye to your muscles . This will lead you to be extremely week. Along with this your brain needs fuel to work .. So you will start to struggle to carry out cognitive day to day processes . Hope this helps
