Chest pain...

Ok first off I want to thank everyone for reading, I'm going to try and make this as short and detailed as possible. About 3 months ago I was doing a workout (where you hit a tractor tire with a sledge hammer) I didn't warm up before doing so and I did something to my chest. I've had a heart echo, and chest X-ray along with blood test all was normal but I've been having this deep pain behind my left breast it comes and goes sometimes mild sometimes moderate it deff grabs my attention..and when I don't sit straight up it feels like my sternum is really sore and needs stretched its very uncomfortable I'm unable to lift heavy weights anymore and idk what to do...it's an everyday struggle..is it possible I just did something to the Sternum  and it caused nerve damage behind my pec? It's been 4 months and no signs of inproving

I suggest seeing a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine! not a chiropractor!
Ask your doctor about having an MRI. You don't need to stretch before exercising what you should be doing is a warm up of the exercise that you are going to do. That means doing the exercise light and easy so the muscles warm up for just a few minutes. After your routine then stretch.

Hello Saylor23,
I don't know if you've ever gone to a chiropracter, but it sounds like
you may need the services of a chiropracter. When you hit the tractor
tire with a sledge hammer you may have sprained something in your sternum
and in your chest muscles. My husband and I go to a chiropracter.
We find her very helpful. We both have sensitive backs and we need to have
an adjustment atleast twice a month. I've been rear ended twice, neither
time not my fault and have had whip lash twice . I have to get monthy neck
adjustments too. I think maybe a chiropracter could help you too.

I once had some stress injury to my ribs.  It was awful.  I needed help getting out of bed for about a month.  It took months to get better.  I didn't break anything, I was told it was probably connective tissue/muscle tear between the ribs.  It got better eventually.

"Pulled Chest Muscle Symptoms

What To Expect

*Tweaks generally won't last very long. Sharp and/or dull pain, mostly when using the muscle, ache (even at rest), are the main symptoms.

Recovery time is days, maybe a week or more.

*Strains are about the same, but hurt a little worse, and a little longer. If the tendon stretched more than a little, this can create a chronic pain dynamic.

Recovery time is a few weeks to a few months.

It can be easy to confuse between a chest muscle tendon strain and a small tear.

*Tears can be, and usually are, debilitating. Sharp, serious pain that keeps you from using the structure.

Chances are, if you have a torn chest muscle (tendon, really, as muscles almost never tear), you'll know it.

If you're an athlete and have a tear, you won't be able to perform like you want to, certainly without significant pain and significant threat of tearing the tendon even worse.

If the tendon has a tear, then it is structurally MUCH weaker. You will want to keep the load off until it heals. You may need surgery depending on the size of the tear, and your desired activity levels."
