Desperate to loose!

I'm almost 29 and weigh about 171..i recently began to diet and exercise. When I began I weighed 183. The problem I'm having is that the scale will not budge. I have become very active. I also workout for the most part 5 days a week and I switch things up so I keep my body guessing. I keep reading that if you do the same exercies than your body gets used to it and stops burning calories like it did when I first started that exercise. I try to study and really try to understand how to loose weight. I am starting to get discouraged. I am really trying and I do feel very healthy...I was never this heavy before I used to be around 115 or less. Types of exercises are : treadmill at 10 incline for about an hour(or more) speed. I do a dvd..crunches, lift 8 lbs weight I try for 50..ab lounge, leg lifts. I also job/walk my dogs..PLEASE HELP!

Hi cmeaker1, how are you doing? Thanks for your reply and the update. I feel the best part of the day to do your exercise and gym practice would be the mornings depending on your mindset and time availability as you will be totally fresh after getting up from sleep and muscles relaxed. At the end of day, due to hard and havoc activities be it daily routine or work related, one tends to get exhausted and tired feeling to take rest. The regularity is most important and maintain your rhythm till you are used to workout. Do not over do on any day. Warm up exercises and stretches for few minutes are helpful. Maintain good diet and hydration. Take care and share your thoughts.

Thanks sooo much! I was also wondering when the best time to exercise is? I usually exercise at night after the kids have gone to sleep. Thanks!

Hi cmeaker1, how are you doing? I appreciate your determination to loose extra weight and to be physically fit enough for your height. I feel you need a more methodical approach in achieving your target and hence you might benefit a lot under the supervision of a good physical trainer or a gym trainer. You can try to do exercises involving different groups of muscle on different days and not to get into a set pattern of exercises. Daily warm up stretches and body massage is good. Do maintain the regularity and the pase with which you are comfortable for couple of months, I am sure you will do wonders. Protein plus diet and plenty of water is essential. Keep updating and sharing your thoughts. Take care.
