Kid, if you're a fatty like me, your legs are the most powerful set of muscles in your body right now. Every ten steps you take is a TON lifted. Those massive leg muscles suck power like crazy when in motion. Walking, until you don't weigh so much that running is uncomfortable, is your fast track to nuking that lard. But what you need the most is to enjoy walking. Think of walking like this:

It's you-time.
Nobody bothering you.
None of those self-righteous hecklers from school.
Plug your ear buds into your favorite source of mp3 goodness and lose yourself in thought.

You see, the speed doesn't matter, but the distance does. While walking and jamming out to tunes, before you'll know it you'll have gone a mile, two, even five

The thing that sets humans apart is our endurance. A human in peak physical condition can outrun any land animal in the world IF the race track is long enough! We are BUILT for long distance. Go as slow as you need. Just remember: no matter HOW slow
you go, you're still doing LAPS around the people still on the couch.

One thing to help you pass the miles is mindfulness meditation. Ask yourself who you are, what you are and want, where you are and where you're going, when do you want to get there and the present time, why you're doing it, and how you're doing it, as you walk. Repeat. It's self-affirming.

Even better if walking becomes a bigger emotional solace than food.

I'm more than 100 pounds fatter than you, and this is how I walked seven miles today in 2 hours.

Its a proven fact walking 30 mins a day with a light diet can help you lose weight. If you really want to kick start it, try walkimg 30 mins morning and afternoon for 7 days a week for about two weeks. Then to maintain a work out and continue to lose take down to walking 30 mins once a day for 7 days week.

I usually squeeze in a few sit ups and push ups while im watching tv or during every commercial break, its not that much when you look at it but scattered throughout the day you see improvements in about a week or two.

Also, joining a school sport helps. Lacrosse really toned me up.
