Hello!

If you want to increase your height then do not go for heavy weight lifting till you are 20 years.

1) Proper protein rich diet + calcium rich food as in milk, meat and eggs.

2) Regular sports, with stretching exercises like skipping, swimming, basketball etc.

3) You have to remember that your height is more or less genetically determined, so it will depend on the height of your parents and forefathers.

4) Hormonal influence is also associated, check your growth hormone and testosterone levels and discuss with an endocrinologist.

Take care!

nooo weight lifting stunting growth is not true at all. It actually makes your muscles and bones stronger and healthier.

But still, you need to be careful getting into strength training, you need to educate yourself about it. Some people can injure themselves doing it wrong (they only lift weights on their arms and it can be dangerous and almost crippling to their lower body). It is important to strengthen all over your body, not just one place.

You can actually increase your height with certain foreign physical activities, and simple things like yoga. You do a lot of stretching, you can actually grow an extra inch at the end of the class, and if you do it regularly, build up muscles and strengthen your posture you will truly appear taller. You can stretch your legs, and your spine. But your a guy, so you may find yoga to be a little girly for you. The thing is, its very good for strengthening as well if you find the right kind.
In that case, find the extreme "hot yoga". It tests your physical endurance for sure. Basically you do extreme flexibility and strength poses in a blaring hot room that is hotter than a sauna. Supposedly really healthy for you. But people who cannot endure it physically end up puking sometimes.

Also, always do some cardio with strength training. Are you in any sports? Could be could to balance it out.
You need to learn the dangers of dehydration. If you work out a lot, you can't just drink plain water. Drinking just water is not healthy when your body is thirsty and near dehydration mode, because the water washes out the rest of the electrolytes in your body.
This can cause water intoxication, and that can actually cause death. That's an extreme case. But basically, not refuelling your body correctly with electrolytes can lead to poor rebuilding for your muscles.

Instead you should drink something that has electrolytes to refuel your body, and also something that has protein, sodium, potassium. Lots of guys have those protein shakes. Some even swear by eating shakes with raw eggs. Kinda gross if you ask me.

Make sure to learn about all the different strength training excersises you can do. There are ALOT. Like for example, if you are trying to work on abs, there are SO MANY crucial different ones that work all the different ab muscles.

Kickboxing is great for strength training.

But, you are a growing man, so basically you need to eat ALOT. Obviously, stick to healthy things. Lots of protein. Stay active. Muscles are always nice, one of the main reasons i wish i was a man. Obviously, calcium for bones, also omega 3 and fish oils are good for bones.
Don't get into a diet, it will most likely stunt your growth. Don't even try to lose weight.

Strength increasing is good, sports are good, just don't get all skinny and unnourished and you should be fine. Eat. The key ingredient to grow.
