Green Tea can help speed up your motabolism, as well as drinking more water and eating smaller meals more frequently throughout the day.
No-carb diets are not good, your right. You should never cut carbs out of your diet! Eat your carbohydrates in the morning and stick to your proteins and veggies later on in the day. Never cut out carbohydrates. Eating carbohydrates does NOT mean you have a weight problem. Eating an excess of carbohydrates, and saturated and trans fats as well as low activity level is grounds for a weight problem but pinpointing it to carbohydrates is dumb. You need them and as soon as your start eating them again your body tends to store them right away.
Hey low carb diets are bad for you because your brain needs them to function. So if you go on a low carb diet you will begin to feel slugish and feel more tired.
You can increase your metabolism by eating smaller amounts of food 5 to 6 times a day. The right combination is also necessary. You need to eat more vegetables raw and steamed less carbs and more white meat such a turkey breast, chicken breast, and white fish. The occasional red meat is okay but remember it takes longer to digest and stays in the system longer so you tend to slow down your metabolism because of it. Let us know what's working for you. Good Luck.
What is glycogen?
And what is Ketosis? is it bad?
If you increase your lean muscle mass yes your metabolism will go up. In order to do that you need to work out. Weight training and cardio as well as eat every 3-4 hours and eat clean. Like protein, vegs, good carbs like red potatoes and some fruits.
Work out on a regular basis. Cardio and weight training, but especially weight training.
From your screen name, it appears you eat a lot of carbs. Bad news. I'd ditch the carbs. Low- or no-carb will get you into fat-burning mode since you'll put yourself into ketosis and start burning body fat for energy instead of glycogen.
If you are eating a lot of carbs, it stands to reason you would have a weight problem.
