Need Help

Should I lift weights while also trying to lose weight.Im talking about moderate dumbbell curls,lateral raises,dumbbell shoulder press,wrist curls,etc...while cutting about 900 cals a day from a 2000 cal daily intake.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

But the calories should only be cut by around 250 a day. The exercise should consume about 250, so your gonna lose about a pound a week (1lb =3500 calories)

Lifting moderate weights is a moderately good method for weight loss. Increasing your muscle mass will also increase your BMR meaning you will use more calories when resting. High Intensity weight training will also increase your metabolism for a few hours after exercise meaning you will continue to burn calories during this time. Compared to a cardio workout like jogging, weight training will burn fewer calories. However, jogging probably has a higher risk of injury and there are pros and cons for both these types of exercise. Depending on your goals, a mix of cardio and weight training is probably the best option.
