Pulled Quad Muscle

Hey there,

My boyfriend asked me to post this question for him>  3 weeks ago he was playing slow pitch softball on a friday like he does every friday night and while running to first base, he seriously pulled his Quad muscle on his right leg and in doing so, he fell, landed on his right leg with it bent up under him (so that he was basically sitting on it).  he wasnt in this position long, as he jumped right back up and hobbled off the field.  ever since then, there is this, divit is the only word i can think of to describe it, in the middle of the front of the thigh.  he is able to walk, run short distances although not hard running just simple jogging, the swelling is way down but there is still that notch or divit in the center of the quad muscle.  anyone have any ideas what it could be?  hes seen a chiropractor and the chiropractor has not clue one what it is.  any help or insight you can provide would so be greatly appreciated.  thank you!!!

Hi,

There is a possibility that the notch or divit as you have mentioned could be due to the fact that the part of muscle got crushed and compressed against the femur resulting in a notch. Rehabilitation here is very important. Utilising the RICE principle (rest, ice, compression, elevation) is very beneficial. Light stretching exercises under full supervision will also help.

I'm so glad you posted this, I hope you get a response.  I did the EXACT same thing...however, I've got a 'lump' in the center of my quad.
