Question about Protien shakes please help!

I have been moderately working out. Going for 45- 1 hour walks 4-5 times a week. I feel better health wise but when I weighed myself after TWO months I hadn't lost anything!! So I did googling and came across an article that said Protein helps you burn fat?? If anyone knows about protein please help me understand. I don't lift weights and I don't run marathons(yet). That is my goal.

A good balanced diet with limited calories is the best way to start to lose weight. You can exercise all you want but if you are not eating good then it will not let you lose weight.

I'm female 21,5'6, 218 and no and yes I used to play sports before I had my son now I'm trying to get rid of all this baby weight. But belly fat is the toughest!
