Research on long term effects of Fat Burners

I have been looking to take some fat burners. However, I want to know if there has been any research done on long time effects (side effects) of taking fat burners. I always think of Medhelp as a more knowledgable forum so i thought i will try out my question here and see if there are any people who have come across any research.

Thanks for your opinion. I thought so.... Lack of long term research and standardization of supplements makes me not want to risk it.. However, if you look at reviews of these fat burners on bodybuilding.com you see thousands of people having tried them.. That makes me think perhaps its ok to consume them in a limited quantity and for a couple months..

Tough situation.... Thanks for recommending the menshealth link. I will try it out...

The studies aren't done long enough and the purity of supplements is another thing and if they aren't standardized then you don't know what you're getting plus no one knows the long term effect of them.
