Resting heart rate and exercise

Quick question, I'm a 52 year old male, about 50 pounds overweight but lost 70 over two years so far, normal BP % cholesterol. I have always worked out between 30 - 60 mins per day at 80% of max. I've been between jobs and had some extra time in my hands and over the [last 6 weeks have stepped up my work outs to 45 -60 mins at 90% of max + and pushing 10 mets per day, up from 7 before. During this period, I have seen my resting heart rate drop from an average of 72 to my current level of 62. Does this sound reasonable? I have normal heart rate response to exercise as well as a normal recovery rate.

Thanks,

Jon

Just to check, You do check your resting heart rate first thing in the morning before you get out of bed? So you have a watch and check your rate without even sitting up in bed?
I'm just checking, If this is what you do then you're doing good
