Right side, lower abdominal pain, groin pain

’m a 35 y/o male, 178cm and 155 lbs. I’ve been experiencing right sided abdominal pain for about 6 months now. The pain is under my right ribs. The pain radiates to my right side back as well. I’ve practiced weight lifting, swimming and karate for years. I'm completely unsure what caused it. It started as very minor pain, more like pressure. I’m fairly athletic and exercise 3-4 days per week, or used to… I haven’t been able to since I’ve had this side pain. The odd thing about the pain is that over few weeks it has gotten a lot worse, rather than getting better and since then stayed almost at the same pain level. This pain has stayed with me every single day for the last 7 months. It gets worse when I sit down. It’s not a sharp stabbing pain, it’s more of a severe ache. It feels like a warm/burning/almost tingly sensation on my right side. The pain goes over to the right side of my back, above my hip bone just below my ribs. It’s like my whole right torso is affected! Sometimes I feel the pain in my right testicle, which feels swollen and painful at the bottom of the right sac. I have a hard time sitting at my desk for work. Also, driving long distances is very uncomfortable and painful now. It feels like someone is poking me right below my right ribcage and I feel a lot of pressure and a pulling sensation on the right side of my back at times. My right oblique muscles are felt very tight on examination. When sneezing I feel a strong tingling in my right side. Sleeping on my right side doesn’t bother it at all, and when I wake up in the morning, the pain is pretty much gone! But of course within the first 10-15 minutes I start walking around a little bit and sitting down to eat my breakfast, it starts. It progresses throughout the day. (I have a desk job, and of course sitting makes it worse….) I can no longer exercise, all I can do is walk, and even that aggravates it sometimes. Food doesn’t seem to make any difference. What I eat doesn’t bother it. Nobody can figure out what I have. I’ve had many different types of blood tests, I’ve had a CT scan of my right side abdomen, a colonoscopy, an ultrasound of my right side, MRIs on my abdomen and thoracic spine and everything has shown up normal. I’ve been checked for kidney stones, gall stones, kidney problems, liver problems, gallbladder problems, hernia but so far, everything is normal! I did go to physical therapy for a couple of weeks, but it did not help, it only caused me more pain. Same thing with a chiropractor. I have also tried acupuncture and injury massage therapy with no luck. I think it is an abdominal muscle tear - sports hernia (athletic pubalgia), inguinal hernia or something urological (epididymitis, varicocele, prostatis, etc). It looks like some of the nerves are affected, because of the tingling sensation, but the spinal MRI did not reveal anything. Do you have any idea what this can be and how can be treated? What other diagnostic tests should I have?

Please, help if you can.

Hi every one. Not sure if this the right site for what I'm describing but reading everyone's comments I'm not sure what it is . Just over a yr ago I joined a gym as I wanted to get toned again. I'm a 52yr old woman and when I started to do the leg plate press it started to hurt on my right side so I stopped going as it hurt to exercise. After a few weeks it went . But every so often would come back . But the last three weeks when we started the extension breaking up about 14yds of old concrete I've had the most chronic back ache which is going down to my hip to the front of my lower stomach. I can't sit down for very long as it's painful and when I move its like I've over done some exercise and muscle pain but it's not from any exercise . It can be quite a bad ache on my lower right back then starts to ache a the front if I walk. Now I've noticed a slight greenish discharge (sorry men) I went for a ultrasound about two months ago came back clear then they decided to give me a ultrasound examination of my uterus they said was clear . On reading other sites it also sounds like I've cancer and it's frightening me whether I'm reading too much into Internet but wish I could read some women  having the same symptoms as me . It did start really bad after I removed the concrete I've been chiro but that didn't help and too expensive . I don't know why they send you for an ultra sound as it doesn't pick anything up . And to see a doc takes 2wks then if they send you for anything is another two months . I do wake up sometimes with a sweat on .im just hoping its a torn muscle anybody else had these symptoms . I've also got a pain in right front shoulder I can't lift my arm up for three weeks.  So fed up with all these aches and pains anybody help

Sustained a fall, head over heel, from the top of the stairs of an apartment stairwell to the very bottom, during an intense ice-only storm that left impassable stair steps, which required my walking on the outside steel beams via the hand rails, that held/support the steps themselves. Had successfully made it to the top and slipped while approaching my door, and then tumbled the entire length. I've had a lumbar laminectomy and a subsequent re-do, which helped immensely. Next, I purchased a firm, latex, memory foam mattress and that helped until recently. Also, I sit at the computer all day and purchased a orthopedic-designed seat cushion; however, the butt pain remains and oftentimes intensifies. The problem is compounded by a somewhat mild scoliosis condition which doesn't help matters, I'm sure. And, I have been told and shown from MRI's that I have arthritis and I'm 63, 61 when I fell. So, to alleviate this butt pain and accompanying structural pain, is PT recommended and what type ? How would that help ?

*Urgent* Dull uncomfortable ache/pain in Right Testicle (slightly higher than left and feels somewhat strained) Pain is worse when exercise is induced, simultaneous pain in right testicle and right oblique/ab with exercise/twisting/lifting.
HELP!

Long read, apologise in advance for spelling, grammatical errors.

Hi, my name is Aaron, I am a 19 year old male with a slightly higher/strained/retracted right testicle which is very very uncomfortable. It has affected my life physically, emotionally mentally and tested relationships with people in my life, it is a very frustrating injury which has gone on too long for a 19 year old. I got this injury in 2010 when i was just 15 years old. I have been playing competitive sports since i was around 8-9, soccer bust mostly basketball. I played for state teams in basketball at a high level for about 4 years and was very fit and active. I could run freely with no pain at all. In highschool in the first half of 2010 I started playing AFL which is footy but involves a lot of kicking (i wasnt used to all the kicking and overloading the right side of my body's muscles) i only played a for a few months while playing state basketball. This injury came out of n where after a basketball game when i got home. I took off my ankle guards and pants ready to have a shower but as i twisted my body slightly to take of the ankle guards i immediately experienced sharp pains simultaneously in my right oblique-abs and right testicle. At that time i felt the testicle rise up slightly giving me a very unpleasant feeling and sensation (numb/dull/dead) i experience to this day. I got it checked out thinking i had cancer being the young lad i was at the time. Dr said i had epiditymitis on the right testicle and was given anti-inflammatory tablets for about 1-2 weeks. i had hot and cold bathes whilst taking the tablets thinking it was some sort of strain, thinking it would go away in a few days, boy was i wrong. its been over 4 years and i have seen over 10 specialists and doctors and it has definitely taken its toll on me, earlier this year 2014, i also saw another urologist who said everything seemed fine, there was no testicular torsion or kindey stone or hydrocele or anything wrong with the testicle anatomically and functionally. everything seemed okay, but it didnt make sense with the pain i am experiencing, it still felt numb, weird, and just uncomfortable as if its strained or soemthing (hard to explain) i felt like a dickhead when he said i was fine, as if i was some liar.. it was bascally another just another kick to the balls... over the 4 years i have had countless apointments with physios which only seemed to make the pain worse when i did their exercises. (this pain can be greater when exericise is induced) i physically can not run at all without the pain in my testicle and gut/oblique. but yea i have had many MRI's, xrays, ultrasounds and they didnt pick up much until this year when i went down to Sydney - Australia ( i live in townsville norht queensland AUS) to see DR john Garvey who is a general diagnostic surgeon of the groin, best in his field. he runs groinpainclinic.com for anyone interested, but yes i saw him and got more scans down there and they picked up on alot of musculoskeletal problems. i had a large tear in the conjoint tendon, 6 stiches were needed usually they put in 4, but the tear was that big, also i had deterioration in one of the tendons in my hip or soemthing which was pain i started experiencing early this year.  also somehting with the adductor and he took out the ilioiguinal nerve i believe. unfortunately my memory is foggy as i havent got a copy of the report. but yea i was issued to get a quadruple groin reconstruction. so i got that and its been a few weeks now, maybe 4-5 weeks now, and im still experiencing the same testicle pain i have had all these years which is very depressing. so i dont really know what to do at all... im only 19 and im studying sprt exercise science, trying to get into physiotherapy to learn about my injury but my knowledge is just too novice to treat soemthing not even the best doctors int he world cant figure out.. the only time i experience any relief is massage on my back, glute, oblique abs, right adductor, hammys and hip flexor stretches, i have very tight muscles from all the sport and kicking for AFL. however this relief is close to nothing, the only time i experienced full relief where my testicle literally drooped back down to its original position and relaxed was around 2011 where i had accupuncture on the right side of my body, oblique psoas trigger point areas, it was like a breath of fresh air and i felt a million bucks, for soem reason the accupuncture helped my uncomfortabe pain but only lasted till the car ride home. where it then shot up again and went back to the uncomfrtable position and since then i havent experienced that relief. i still see that accupuncturist from time to time but i havent had the same relief, i see him again this wednesday and hope to get ome needles in the oblique area which is tight. but yes these are all just theories, i think i have a tight deep muscle affecting a nerve (possibly one that innervates the scrotum /cremasteric muscle) thats why the needles worked cos they got deeper, i assume... but yes when i rub the inside of my right leg down to my knee my testicle retracts/jumps up and is just very sensitive as well. so yea thats about it, i cant do anything, its very frustrating and debilitating, was 85kgs at the time now i weigh 110kgs due to inactivity. but yea thankyou for taking hte time out to read this, i sound like a bit of a whinger/complainer but really im just a frustrated 19 year old who wants to play competitive sport again and fix this injury so i can focus on that and my career, but until then im going around in circles and its been very tough.. look forward to hearing from you guys, thanks so much :)

Has there seriously been this many people with the same issue but not a single medical professional can figure out what's going on? C'mon, this is what you guys get paid for.. After all the research I've done on this infliction that even I have, not a single health professional can say what's going on. Guess I can either be depressed or ignore it or pop some pills or throw more money at the hospital..

I'm not sure if it's comforting or worrying that I have discovered other people with similar issues, however, it's at least reassuring to know I'm not the only one. I started getting a 'Pressure' in my right side between ribs and hip. It seemed to start after what I though was a bad bout of stomach cramps. I had 3 occurances of 'bad bloating' over a 6 month period and realised that after these occurances, I had a certain amount of pressure on the right side. I also noticed a dull ache in my right testicle which comes and goes (lately I have noticed no pain in morning when I awake, eat breakfast and still ok, then go walk the dog and testicle ache begins, usually feeling a bit sentsitive too).
I have had the Blood Tests, Urine Tests and CT Scan and all clear. My Urologist said that the scans being clear was a good sign, however, that leaves me wondering what is causing the pressure and ache? He said that my diet was awful (nearly all processed foods, no fruit, vegatables about once a week etc) and that may be contributing to the stomach problems. I don't feel very confident that this is the problem, although i have been eating loads of fibre and fruit/Veg and not made any difference at all (only been a week though).
If nothing gets better in the next couple of weeks, I guess I will need to go back and start looking in to the possibility of hernias or specific stomach issues.
As one poster commented earlier, it does drag you down and make you feel more than a little depressed...
