SHOULDER BURSITIS

Was Wondering If Anybody Else Has Dealt With Shoulder Bursitis Before. I Am Wondering If I Overtraining Or Its Working At Computer For 50 Hours/ Week Or A Combination Of Both? And Also What Did You Do To Speed The Recover Process?

My Chiropractor Has Told Me That I Have Shoulder Bursitis. I Have Not Lifted For Over 5 Weeks And I Still Have Soreness In In My Right Shoulder And Elbow. She Cannot Tell Me How Long That I Cannot Workout Or What The Cause Of The Bursitis Is (i Work At A Computer For 50 Hours/ Week Also). My Lifting Routine (am I Overtraining?) Is:

Day 1-barbell Press, Incline & Decline Cable Flyes, Lying Triceps Extensions, Overhead Extensions, And Kickbacks.

Day 2-rest

Day 3-behind The Neck Presses, Incline 1 Arm Lat Raises, Front Lat Raises, Barbell Curls, Incline Dumbell Curls, One Arm Concentration Curl, Incline & Decline Wrist Curls, And Reverse Incline & Decline Wrist Curls.

Day 4-rest

Day 5- Repeat Day 1

Day 6- Rest

Day 7- Repeat Day 3

Every 4-5 Weeks I Take A Week Off. I Typically Do 2-3 X 8-10 For Each Exercise

Any Info Will Be Helpful!!!!!!!!!!!

It is all in "how" you are lifting. I used to have shoulder pain from beching etc but when I learned better form I never have a problem now.   Take it easy on any shoulder and delt work for awhile and let it heal, then focus on strict form and technique.

The bursitis can be helped along by going to an ortho and getting a steroid injection into the bursa.  The shot isn't too painful and pain relief can occur within a couple of hours.  This treatment can last for a few days to years depending on how you rectify the misuse of the shoulder.  Some physical therapy may be helpful to learn how to continue lifting in a manner that will lessen the risk of re-injury.  good luck

This can last for years, or may never heel.  Bursitis is puss built up around your shoulder.  If it does not go away, the Doctors can drain it out.  Make sure it not tendonds in your rotator cuff first.  You can do tendon excersises for that and will respond with ice too.. Hope this helps
