Hi there!

Well, if the rapid heart beat occurs without any trigger like exercise, anxiety, dehydration, anemia etc; I would have suggested an evaluation by a cardiologist. Also while a few trigger factors are normal physiological responses like exercise and anxiety induced tachycardia; others like anemia, dehydration, hypoglycemia, hypotension etc. would need an evaluation and appropriate management. However if these episodes occur without ant trigger an evaluation by a cardiologist is implicated which should include evaluation for rhythm abnormalities and possible precursor factors. If these have been tested to be negative and all possible tests including a 24-hour holter has been normal, it is unlikely to be anything serious and could just be due to some minor factors like stress, anxiety, dehydration etc. uses like The chest pain is likely to be due to non-cardiac causes like gastritis, acid reflux etc and you may consider an evaluation by a primary care physician to rule these out; which can be managed accordingly, depending on the cause diagnosed. To avoid the rapid heart beat episodes in future, it is suggested to have a healthy balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables to supply the vitamins and minerals and keep the body adequately hydrated at all times, especially when working out. If you still experience these episodes you may try taking deep breaths in and holding for a few seconds before breathing out.
Hope this was useful.

Take care!
