calves

Hello, I am new to this community but I have been struggling with weight all my life.  I am very short, and have very short legs, and I was wondering if there was a way to lose the muscle mass in my calves.  The reason for this is because I am overweight, but I have been walking constantly all my life due to my mother never having a car, and I couldn't afford one until now, and still I walk to work and back (only 6 blocks) and my calves have always been huge.  I hate this because it's difficult for me to wear shorts because people stare at my calves and they probably think that they are all fat, when they are solid muscle.  I want to know if there if a way I can lose the muscle so that my calves look normal.

Thanks in Advance

Hello!

Hey, it is so good to have muscle but I can understand you have lots of muscle.

The muscle tone will be lost with decrease in workouts and only over a period of time. The more you work out the more the muscle will be obvious and to lose muscle is like going for cutting down on your protein in your diet and avoiding all kinds of physical exercises targeting your calves.

Discuss with a trainer.

I think there is a misunderstanding here.  I have a lot of muscle on my calves from years of walking everywhere I go.  The muscles make my calves look too big.  I wanted to know if there was a way to get rid of the all the muscle. I have no fat on my calves, just on my stomach. But I feel like pop-eye because my calves are muscular, kind of like a mans calves, so I just want the muscle to be gone.  If my calves were just fat, I'd be happier because I could lose the fat on them and tone them up, but now, I just have solid muscle and everyone stares.

Hello!

Do not believe in any health concoctions and equipment which claim they can target fat loss in a particular area. Only by plastic surgery you can remove fat this way.

Weight loss is a gradual way and the fat loss will be proportional. The area where you have put on fat last is the area you will lose first and the final target will be your abdominal area.

I would suggest you to plan a proper diet chart and concentrate on cardio regularly for 45-60 minutes. With any complications you have to see an orthopedician.

Take care!
