can intense exercise and muscle soreness cause a higher fasting glucose reading?

Yesterday, I did an 8.5 mile fast hike followed by some moderate weight lifting. Admittedly, I was a bit overzealous and this morning, my muscles were sore.my morning fasting glucose reading was high. Could my activity yesterday and my muscle soreness this morning cause a spike in my glucose reading?

I'm sure someone on here will give you an answer, but it would help if you tell us why you're testing your fasting glucose.
