I am breastfeeding and have been on the depo shot for about 1 month and started spotting. What does that mean?

Hello! ( You can post further queries in the right community )

During absolute breast feeding you will have natural protection against pregnancy and your periods will get delayed due to high prolactin levels; you can get protection till 6 months if you do not start your periods. For complete protection against pregnancy it is good to start contraception after three months of child birth with absolute breast feeding.

There is no reason to worry as you can have spotting and bleeding as side effects with the use of contraceptives such as depot shot.

Take care!
