Hi. I also have exercise induced asthma as well as being bipolar. My therapist recommended to me that when I feel like doing nothing at all, that is the most important time for me to be active. Even if it's only for ten minutes a day. If you stick to it I promise you will gain more motivation as well as a sense of accomplishment. Don't beat yourself up just because you didn't accomplish all you would have liked to have done. Baby steps are key. Minor lifestyle changes are key in losing weight and keeping it off. Just remember the weight gain didn't happen overnight and neither will losing it. Set small goals for yourself. Cardio is especially rough on my body due to the asthma as well as osteoarthritis. Just spend a little extra time doing cardio at a slower pace and slowly you will increase your stamina. It's a long and hard process and having a buddy to workout with will make it much easier. Just make sure you Have any a good support system in place and you'll be losing in no time. Also another thing that has helped me greatly is drinking at least 8oz. Water about 20 minutes prior to eating so I will eat less. Also before you to eat make sure to eat only half the portioning and save the rest for later. Good luck on your journey to a new and healthier you!
