Accommodative esotropia but near-sighted?

My official dx is partially accomodative esotropia since I was 2yo.  My regular Rx is -.25 (so I'm near-sighted) and my bifocal is +2.75 (which means I'm far-sighted).  I just learned how to read eye prescripitons through google and never knew what my prescriptions were as a child.  Do you think it was likely that I was fully far-sighted as a child (I did not use any bifocals then), outgrew it, and turned near-sighted, but remain far-sighted when looking at close distance?  How much more near-sighted will I typically go before turning far-sighted again as I hit the 40s and need reading glasses?  I am currently 30.

Many cases are spontaneous. How "bad" your visiion gets without glasses as you get older can be determined by a "post cycloplegic refraction"

I am actually the first person in the history of my family timeline to be cross-eyed.  I don't know where I inherited it from.  Thanks for answering my questions.

These questions cannot be generalized about. Discuss with your surgeon. Recall that any children you have or blood relatives with children have about a 20% chance of developing this type of strabismus.
