normal to have “jiggling” years after cataract surgery? Too late for an exchange?

I had cataract surgery 5 years ago at 35, standard mono focal lens. Vision seemed jiggly and shaky with eye movements and when tracking things especially reading). I was told it would improve. It never has. It’s worst in bright light. And reading drivers me nuts. I thought it was normal but I’m now thinking it’s not.

I’m scared now bc I have to have the second eye done. In the last few years my “better” eye has helped me ignore the jiggle. I’m scared I’ll have it in both eyes and eont be dble to ignore it.

Is it just not in properly? Is it worth considering an exchange this late in the game?

(I have other eye issues- extremely highly myope, some retinal tears that have been repaired, and some detachment of the vitreous.)

I would suggest you hold off doing the second eye until you make some more judgments on the first eye. Find out what brand/type of IOL you have in the first eye. Acrylic? Silicone?  I would see at least two more cataract/IOL surgeons (be sure to take information on the IOL in your eye) and ask what they think is the cause of the problem in your first eye? postive or negative dysphotopsia, IOL not in correct position, posterior capsule cloudy, macular problems,  do you have eye muscle problem like nystagmus?  It's bad enough to have problem in one eye without having it in both eyes. start working on two more consults.
