Blurriness, double vision

Hello

when im driving and i see a traffic light i see two sets of light, like if the traffic light is green i see another one right beside/above it. Its kind of like double vision with blurriness. Im scared this might be related to brain tumor since i haven't had this (to this extent) before and i was wondering if this could be a sign of brain tumor.I'm suffering headaches (mostly in the morning) and neck pain for the past 3 weeks but my ENT thinks its not a brain tumor and he thinks im just having anxiety and stress which is causing headaches and tense neck muscles.

i have astigmatism in both of my eyes  and i did see a doctor which checked my eye two days ago, and told me everything is fine except my eye muscles being weak but the nerves were healthy on optomap. Could the sudden change be due to health anxiety im developing over brain tumor?

The test that made the doctor there is a problem with my eyes, was a test that required me to look at a sentence and he would change this tool with 4 scoops, he would flip the scoops and see if my eyes could get back on focus and see the sentence clearly. And i had problem doing so, he said it should take me 1 seconds, but it took me 6-7 seconds to see the line coming back on focus. But the Optomap was fine, all the nerves were healthy. He said i should go back for a vision field test next week. And said he will give me exercises for my eye muscles.

The tests would not necessarialy show all the problems especially if they were done by an optometrist and not a MD ophthalmologist. Big difference in training and experience.

thanks doctor

you are right im being very anxious, one last question
would Optomap and regular eye check up show the diseases you just mentioned?
and the focusing test that the doctor performed on me? does that indicate my eye muscles are weak? and is there anyway to work those muscles?

appreciate the help

Your description in not true double vision (in which case you would see two of everything) but monocular "ghosting" which can be due to needing glasses, having incorrect glasses, having cornea disease, cataracts or macular disease. It is not at all suggestive of brain tumor and you do indeed sound very anxious.

I would suggest you see an Eye MD ophthalologist. Being asked to come back for eye exercises likely means you have seen a non MD optometrist.

You can go to www.aao.org and find a Eye MD physician ophthalmologist near you.

Try and relax some, the odds are heavily in your favor.
