C3F8 'Gas Bubble'

BBi
Does anyone know roughly  long will it be before I can see through my left eye where I had a Macular repair and removal of a cataract removed on the 26th May.?
The Dr said it may feel like I'm 'extremely short sighted for about 3 weeks, but I can't see anything except for when I look down and then only above what appears to be a shaking wave!

Would really appreciate other folks experience, I wasn't informed that I'd have a Gas bubble put in my eye so was not sure what I should / shouldn't be experiencing. Also I have to wear a bright yellow medical bracelet on my 'left wrist until the bubble has completely gone, and one else have this following their surgery?
Thanks. B

I know you would like answers about your recovery but they are impossible to give. The surgery is not unique and typical like cataract surgery. You can use the search feature and archives and scroll through posts over the past week or so and there are many people that have shared their experience with recovery from this type of surgery. Know that most eyes do not recovery full and normal vision.  Often the surgeon does not know ahead of time if gas  or air will have to be left in the eye. Have no idea what the yellow wrist band is about.

Thank you,

Gosh , I do hope for full vision for o be restored - eventually!
my understanding of the  Yellow wrist band ( which has writing so small , I can't read it) is that it lets any medical person know that I have a Gas bubble in my left eye! Apparently !
Best of luck

I don't know what type of gas they used in my vitrectomy/scleral buckle surgery, but it lasted about 3 weeks.  Yes, I had one of those bracelets.  Between the gas bubble and the odd refractive effects it causes, temporary floaters and cloudiness, flashes from residual traction, and other visual effects from the retinal healing, that was a very odd and disconcerting time.  Good luck!
