Ocular herpes

I have a classic case of mild HSV-1 oral infection.  Several small oral ulcers around the mouth, a slightly swollen lymph-node, which all started 8 days after a romantic kiss with a girl of unknown HSV-1 status.  This is all new to me.  I rub my eyes several times a day, and although I've stopped rubbing them since symptoms began, two days ago the left eye began feeling scratchy and displayed a few red lines.  This morning, they are both more red and irritated, as well as being slightly sticky/foggy when I woke up.  I know this could be a symptom that I've transferred the virus  to my eyes because I don't yet have sufficient antibodies.  Problem is, my GP is on vacation until Monday.  I saw her colleague this week, and he said the IGG/IGM negative antibody test results say I don't have HSV-1.  I know 8 days was much too early for an IGG test and IGM is worthless.  I'm told the swab won't be back unti Monday, when my regular GP will also return.

It is Thursday.  How risky is it to wait until Monday to get swab results, see my GP and get further advice on my eyes?  Should I just schedule an appointment with an eye doctor immediately?  I know that a bad case could cause blindness.  Thus far, all of my symptoms (oral and ocular) have been minor.

Thanks doctors.

See an ophthalmologist.  He will see sign of infection if you have ocular herpes.
