Do other people in their 30's have Macular Degeneration

New Years Eve I was diagnosed with Macular Degeneration. I am a 32yr old female, and I am a little too scared to do research on it yet so I dont know much about this. From what I do know this usually is not seen until you get a Little older, and it cant be good if I have to go see a Retina Specialist ASAP. Can anybody help me understand this before I search the web and find out things that may or may not be true. I have been diagnosed with 2 issues with my Brain in the past month and dont want to stress out over everything i might read. Thanks for any help I can get

It is possible that these problems are related.  You should see a  retinal specialist and a neuro-ophthalmologist.

Thank you for your response. Do you think this is something I should be very concerned about? I just got diagnaosed with Lesions on my Brain and Low Lying Tonsils, and I have been having a headache for 7mos and it is 24hrs a day. My vision is becoming distorted and blurry along with double vision. I have had episodes of blacking out (not passing out). I had my eyes checked to make sure there was no pressure behind my eyes and that is when I was diagnosed with Drusen and Macular Degeneration. Is there any correlation to the headaches or vision problems I am having? If there is any answers you can give me I would be very grateful.

Hi, i am 33 years old female with high myopic. May I know how is your eyes condition now after 4years? I was informed by my eyes specialist that both of my eyes have dry type macular degeneration due to my high myopic. I am very worry and depressed as doctor told me that it will get worse and worse but he just told me it took years and do not specifically tell me the estimate time frame. I do not how to handle my future as I am only 33 years old and I don't know how much of time I still have before i turn blind.

Macular degeneration is a non specific diagnosis.  Age related macular degeneration occurs in the elderly.  However,  there are macular degenerations that start at various ages beginning in childhood.
