Dog's nasal drainage in my eye

Last night I was laying on the sofa and my dog decided to get playful.  He has seasonal allergies with a clear nasal discharge but not all the time.  He brought me a toy and sort of snorted.  His nasal spray landed on my face and it felt like some got in my eye.

I rinsed with water and flushed with artificial tears but the hypochondriac in me has me very worried.  The eye is not red, sore, etc.  If I were to develop an infection/ problem, how long would it take for symptoms to show?  Dog is NOT ill.

Thank you so very, very much!

I had colon cancer in Jan. 2009 and a small met to my liver 22 months ago (all clear after HR) and get terrified over the littlest things now!

You've given me great comfort.
