You're welcome a bunch and best of luck. JCH MD
That's a bucket load of surgery for an eye without holes/tears/RD or visible traction. My suggestion would be as outlined below get 3rd and 4th opinions. Of course my thoughts are a generalization since I can't look in the eye but I would not jump on the sugical table without a confirming opinion from an independent retina surgeon and a good understanding of the risk/benefit equation

I'm talking about my good eye. I am terrified to go either way. I do have a small cataract in that eye too. No lattice in that eye, lots of flashes and I do have a weiss ring. Doc wants to do vitrectomy, remove gel, lensectomy and implant all at once.
Are you talking about your "good" eye or the eye with all the RD surgery?
If you're talking about your "good" eye than I would suggest getting a third or even 4th opinion. A vitrectomy will almost always cause a cataract that grows relatively fast then you will need cataract surgery and that increases the risk or RD dramatically.

True or not?
if you have eye flashes a lot, know that you are headed for a PVD. One eye doc says that since I've been having flashes for a good while with no retinal tears, there probably won't be a tear.
Other eye doc wants to do a vitrectomy to remove the gel that's causing the flashes.
What is your opinion?
HI,
I have read and re-read the problems associated in this forum for over 4 years. None of the problems associated tell me what to do next.
I really did not have a complicated RD... what I had was one thing, what was done to my eye bu surgeons was another.
I am asking if there is anything besides EDTA chelation that will remove the BK.
Obviously not.
No drops will remove the band keratopathy. Use the search feature and archives to read about problems associated with complicated retinal detachments and silicone oil in the eye.
