For years, my eyes have had a tendency that when I move them, the scene itself seems to move with it, rather changing from one point to another on a still scene. Due to this, I can make it seem like there's an earthquake going on simply by moving my eyes around frenetically. This leads to trouble with reading comprehension, because whenever I move my eyes along the line, the line moves with it, so my eyes land a few words away from where I meant to point them. I have to force my eyes to keep the scene still when I read.
I don't think this is a binocular problem, because I patched one eye for a few days and the problem is still present with the unpatched eye.
I am 21 years old, near-sighted, and have been diagnosed with exophoria at near (convergence insufficiency) and hyperphoria.
What could be causing this? Is there a name for this condition? Thanks for your input.
