I am 37 and have worn glasses for years. I am nearsighted. Over the past few years I have experienced crossed eyes. My right eye actually does cross (my husband confirmed this). This only happens when I look far away, I can see close up fine. If I cover one eye it corrects the problem. Sometimes it lasts for a whole day. Sometimes it lasts for a few hours. I can go for a few days without incident or sometimes it will happen every day for a few days. I have spoken to my eye Dr. in the past and she prescribed glasses that had prisms. This helped a little but I would still experience the problem. Lately it has been happening every day. Today I woke up cross eyed and have been like this all day. It is very frustrating. I feel pressure in my temples and between my eyebrows. This is really ruining my life. Any advise would be appreciated.

Wow, your MCAT scores (you can Google it) must have been off the charts!
i had heart surgery in 2013 and a couple weeks after surgery mine started doing the same thing. i was driving the first 2 times. i went to the eye doctor and he said everything was fine and that i need to see a neurologist. i have ignored it for a while but it has been doing it again and i getting a referal to the neurologist now.
It just happened to me. Eyes crossed involuntarily during an argument with my wife. Crossed vision, dizziness until I closed one eye. Won't seek medical attention. Doctors mostly don't know crap.
I have had this happen to me about 11 years ago. I had heart surgery and weeks after when I was recovering I had the crossed eyes events which lasted maybe 30 seconds to 1 minute. Had MRI and nothing found. Went to eye specialist and he believed these were happening due to stress post surgery. Have only recently had 3 more events like this, crossed eyes, cant see straight , first time I was dizzy, the next 2 days my eyes felt like they were going to start crossing so I rubbed them, closed them and tried to relax. Freaking me out, scared this will happen when I am driving or at work with a client.
If i lock my vision for a few seconds, so they like freeze, my eyes also start to squint (I hope i am saying the correct word now) but then they go outside and not crossing.
