Gentle eye rubbing is ok ?

Hi Dr and team

Merry Christmas.

I have perfectly recovered after my minor horseshoe tear laser done in May ‘17. The doctor says everything is fine.

Sometime I feel moderate itching in eyes and I rub them. Is it ok to very gently rub the corners of eye and relieve the itching ? Does this have a big chance of detachment or is it ok to rub sometimes?

Thanks !

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you also.

Gently rubbing the eye lids is okay.  You want to avoid pushing on the eyelids roughly with the lids closed. If you eye itches you can try artificial tears, allergy eye drops, warm compresses or splashing warm water on the closed eye lids.

Thanks Sir. I usually experience itching in the inner corners of the eyes, so rub them gently with eyes closed. I won’t do that now. However, a little scared as I might have done so a few times in the past month.
To really damage the eye you would have to put a lot of pressure on the eye which would create a lot of pain and discomfort.  I'm sure you didn't do that.
Oh no,never sir. Even the vision is good. An you would be happy to know that the flashes have reduced significantly.

I try to have a lot of spinach juice, walnuts, protein shakes, 2 eggs a day, ascorbic acid tablets.

Thanks for putting my mind at ease. Really appreciate
Happy to help
