Episcleritis?

Hi there

My outer corner of the left eye is constantly inflamed and have sensation of burning. The only thing that helps
is when my Dr.give me FML 0.1% drops for a while one week or 2 weeks treatment until redness clears up ,but after I stop it it comes back .
I believe my problem is chronic episcleritis because it looks the same and is very sectoral without pain.
Was reading about some alternative treatment with Homeopaty  for this condition with some good results, does anybody have any experience with this or some other choices?
I am presently using diclofenac 0.1% drops and systane.

The problem is only left eye my right eye is completely normal.I dont have any underlying condition but could be IBS meybe ?

I'm sorry. If you will read the rules of MedHelp.org it expressly states that we are not attempting to remotely practice medicine. There are websites where for a fee physicians will practice remotely.

Dear Dr.John

True ,however I am working in remote place and I dont have option to visit doctor here.
I am using diclofenac 0.1% every 6 hours 1 drop in the eye,is working magic for me ,feel much better with this that with FML because I was getting rebound redness from FML after a while.
I just need advice on how to use it properly because no doctors available here especialy the ones with knowlage.

I appreciate you help.

The most common would be problems lie inflammatory artheritis or inflammatory bowel disease. Many cases are "idiopathic" meaning no disease is causing it or will not show up for years to come.

Your meds should be regulated by your Eye MD.

My mother had recurrent episcleritis for years without any known cause. It frustrated her also

Dear Dr.John

Underlying disease like what? My blood work has been done for everything under the sun and came back negative.
The only problems I am dealing with lately has been feeling bloated but this is producing my hiatal hernia.
Do you recommend any other tests to confirm that eye problem otherwise using dops will just taper the problem .
I am dealing with this already several years without improvement,is really make my life going to numerous oculists and they always give me same answer all is ok???Use artificial tears,is just weak eye,dry eye??
For how long I can use diclofenac 0.1% side effects? How many times a day to use this drops ?

Thank you DR.

yes could be chronic episcleritis or pingueculitis .Both respond well to topoical steroids get quiet and try and taper off. Topical NSAIDs work well also.  OFten there is a underlying disease driving this
