Interesting discussion. I am 64 years of age, caucasian male, and have had "sparks" in my vision for several years and still get them at times. I recently have been experiencing the halo effect around lights at night too. This started, interestingly enough, immediately following cataract surgery in March 2015 and is accompanied by the other common symptoms related here. In addition I also have wide-angle gloucoma in both eyes.
My ophthamologist naturally has thoroughly checked my vision and eye health. She did the surgery at a very well respected teaching hospital here in Toronto where she is practises. In retrospect, I suppose it could be possible that I introduced an infection while instilling the eye drops. I need to get this checked out.
Thanks to all for the information.
No, I don't think that's the problem since this happens to me as well. Not scared. I don't work on the computer as much, very light to none at all for days sometimes weeks. So I don't think that this is the answer. Thank you.
dear fellow sufferer, I have developed halos too. I'm 57. People when posting should reveal age more. Anyway, I think it is from computers. I have to study further, but that is what I think. I have been reading posts of too many people seeing halos. Either it's computers or it's the type of lights they are using now. I mean lights in car headlights and in street lamp posts. That's where I see it. I have had my eyes checked too and they can find nothing. So, what gives?
You have nothing better to do than argue with a 4 1/2 year old post?
Life must be dull living under that bridge.
you have a medical degree in physics? no you don't. shut up
vision problems are a medical and as I 'stair' at your post it is obvious you are not an ophthalmologist so do not give people medical advice
