Unusual Lights

During the day (outside) I have noticed glittering lights in the right side peripheral vision of my right eye.
In the dark, (with one light on) when I turn my head left to right (right side peripheral vision) of my right eye there is a flash of multicolored light.  Last year, I was diagnosed with new cataracts.  Are these strange lights a symptom of cataracts?

See a neuroophthalmologist. Find one at www.aao.org  Chiari Malformation can affect the eyes.

Hello, I have been experiencing the same symptoms, only maybe worse. I am 17 yrs old almost 18, and I have had this problem for about 4 yrs now or more. I was diagnosed with a Chiari Malformation in 2007 which they discovered in an MRI. I also have Fibromayliga. My vision problem first started off when my vision slowly became blurry with blind spots. Now I see strange colors in my vision 24/7 with my eyes opened or closed. I also have a very strange feeling in my head 24/7 like I not even here.

Could be but there are other causes including migraine and TIA. See a eye MD ophthalmologist for a specific evaluation of these new symptoms.
