I'm seeing lines that aren't there

For a couple of weeks now, I've been seeing thin, mostly horizontal lines that are not actually "there." I usually see them out of the corner of my eye, or when I'm not focusing on anything in particular. At first it would happen mostly when I was in a semi-dark room, but now it's happening regardless of the lighting or enviornment I'm in (inside, outside, etc.) Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

I do wear contacts-But I see the line regardless of if I'm wearing my contacts or not. I also have seasonal eye allergies.

Sounds crazy but just wondering if anyone has heard of this??

Hi,

I have experienced this when I first get up in the morning soon after I open my eyes.  I have had my eyes checked and have been told they are fine.  I just accept them as normal now.  I have also experienced them outside, but they are more like streaks.  I have floaters also.  I have had a lot of wierd vision problems since coming off preventative drugs for migraines.

I agree it does sound crazy.  I had a hard time telling anyone at first because I did not want them to think I was crazy.
