Is it enough?

My 3 yr old daughter was just diagonised with hyperopia +5.0.  The Dr. rx'd glasses of only +2.5 because he says it is normal and necessary for visual development for young children to have mild hyperopia.  I am nearsighted and my rx is something like -3.0, and I can't hardly do anything without my glasses.  If I can't hardly see at -3.0 than it would seem to me that +2.5 is not mild.  Should the rx for my daughters glasses be stronger?  Should I get a second opinion?  She has some strabismus, especially in the afternoon and evening.  I am anxious about her being able to see well enough because she is just at the age where she should be learning her letters and learning to draw and write.  I don't want her vision to slow her progress.
Thanks

Yes, by all means get a consult from a pediatric ophthalmologist Eye MD. Find one at www.aao.org    You child is quire farsighted and if the eye is still turning in she should be in the full RX (+5.00 each eye).

Find an eye MD at www.aao.org

This is important.
