I am 50 years old and have been wearing contact lenses since I was 16. The last two years I have been having issues with my contacts, especially in my left eye. My left eye will start to bother me after about an hour after putting them it. It starts with blurriness and progresses to a point which my lens feels like it gets stuck, or the lens very slowly repositions itself after blinking. Eventually it is hard to see out of that eye. If I take them out and soak them for a time and then put them back in again that will sometimes buy me an extra few hours. Re-wetting drops sometimes work and sometimes makes it worse. My eye is usually irritated after removing the lenses for a little while, although I have had my eye hurt overnight and into the next day a few times. Its worse in the winter and when indoors, in the summer it doesn't bother me as much. I'm lucky if I can keep my lenses in for 4-5 hours a day. I have been wearing glasses most of time this winter. My right eye isn't anywhere near as bad as my left. There have been times when I've had to put a damp cloth over my eyes and lay down to help with the irritation after removing them. Could this be just a dry eye issue? Any thoughts?
