I've been dealing with this for roughly a year it seems. I'll try and give as thorough a description as possible. Around this time last year I was wearing 1 contact in my left eye. I wore it every few days but was not worn constantly. It's a Acuvue 2 disposable lens. I fell asleep in the contact and upon taking it out it felt like it tore or pulled in a difficult manner off of my eye. I thought nothing of it and continued on with my day.
Fast forward I'm not sure how long and I started noticing a general change in my eye shape or the symmetry of my eyes. My Left eyelid was noticeably lower than the right I'd say roughly 2 or 3 millimeters not sure.
Went to the Ophthalmologist and she gave me lubricating drops and they didn't work next she gave me other drops(I can't remember what they were) but it was for cataracts or something. They didn't work. I went back and saw a different doctor and he just gave me GenTeal ointment for my eye at night and then GenTeal tear drops.
NONE OF IT WORKED.
Although they couldn't figure that out I did decide to get Lasik eye surgery done in that eye 3 months ago.
Which may not have helped the situation. They didn't see any abnormalities with my eye so it went ahead and now I at least I can see out of the eye without contacts or glasses.
It was 3 month ago I had the surgery. If I open my eyelid with my fingers to match my right eye, the left eye quickly feels sensitive to exposure tears up and there's a burning sensation felt near the top of my Cornea. I try using all sorts of OTC drops.
Could my eyelid be compensating for that pain above my cornea? constantly covering it?
Could it be Ptosis? or Horner Syndrome?
If I DID tear away a piece of my eye when I took out my contact is there a way of fixing that piece of eye skin?
I'm asking in total desperation I hate the way I look in photos, people ask if I blinked, or have a lazy eye, or if I'm drunk in pictures. Totally embarassing. I'm perfectly healthy otherwise. I can't afford to keep going to the doctor without getting results it costs $90 every time I go in. EVEN WITHOUT RESULTS! I love having to pay $80/month for health insurance just to have to pay more for visits like this. Sorry venting. Below are links to pictures of my eyes.
