MMD Prevention

Hello, i am high myopic and i was diagnosed with myopic macular degeneration. Its not progressing, there are no new blood vessels that can damage my vision. I have just one little blind spot in the border of my central vision. It is not causing me problems its just annoying knowing that is there. My doc says that he would suggest injection therapy only if the MMD will start to progress. So... The blind spot is fresh... why the doctor wont heal this vessel... how i can prevent new blind spots... is there any food, exercises to avoid,....

thanks a lot....

retinal hemorrhage is just what it says bleeding in or on the retina. However it says nothing quantitative its like saying "body bleeding" that could be a razor nick or a bullet through the heart and a fatal bleed-out.

Anti-VEGF (lucentis, avastin) are used to treat blooding caused by abnormal tiny new vessels (neovascularization).  Does not work for all tyes of bleeding. The rest I can't answer because I don't know what your MD found and the information will need to come from him/her.

Is there anything to do to prevent this? i have my report of my doctor in my mother language so its difficult to translate in english... but i found that maybe this is the cause of my spot.....

No there is no specific diet that helps MMD. However there are dietary changes that help the much more common age related macular degeneration.  To see the go to Dr. Hagan's blog and read about plus look for the macular degeneration article that is featured on the forum home page.

There is not enough information for me to understand what is causing your blind spot. Ask for clarification from your ophthalmologist.
