Methanol Poisoning

A friend of mine produces his own alcoholic beverages at home. He drinks these beverages since 3 years and he doesn't have any problems with his eyes. I drank one of his alcoholic beverages. It has been a year since I drank it. The drink he made contains %40-45 of alcohol and I drank approximately 400-500 ml of it. I didn't feel bad that night except being drunk. I slept well and even though I have headache too often, I didn't even suffer from headache that day. The thing that I am worried about, is it possible that the alcohol I drank can be methanol and I survived it? And is it possible that this alcohol damaged my eyes but I am not aware of it?

If you had drank  enough methanol to do damage to you eye it would have shown up in the first 48-72 hours. So I think you can rule out methanol damage. However it is risky behavior and I would suggest you avoid homemande alcoholic drinks.

Thank you very much, you made me relieved. I won't drink homemade alcoholic drinks again.

I wrote "is it possible that the alcohol I drank can be methanol". I mean that is it possible that the beverage I drink could contain "methanol" instead of "ethanol".
