I got new glasses about 2 weeks ago, since that time I have severe headaches, w/dizziness. Thought I had a sinus infection, but not. Could these glasses make my headache so bad??
yes, some people (me included) do not tolerate curved (Gargoyle type) glasses. If possible return to the optical shop ask if you can exchange the frames for ones that resemble most your lost glasses. The fewer things you change the less trouble you'll have adjusting.
Remember just like your shoes all feel somewhat different even though they're the same size glasses are the same deal

I had a pair of prescription sunglasses that were very comfortable, but unfortunetely I lost them and had the same prescription done in the same place I had the other ones made. It's been 2 weeks and I have headaches and eye strain when I wear them. Could it be the shape of the frame? the second pair is a lot more curvier than the ones Iost.
Thank you
Do remember that there are many variables besides the glasses. I outlined them above. especially important are base curve, optical center, frames of similiar size, identical lens material and coatings.

Thanks for the reply Dr. Hagan. I was thinking about going back and asking if they can just get a read off of my old glasses and cut me a new RX based off of that. I know its not 20/20, but I can work, drive, use my computer, read, whatever just fine with my current glasses. They are just completely worn out.
Also, I didn't think of it before, but both RX's were measured by technicians and not the actual Dr., not sure how normal this is, but I've never had so much trouble with new glasses before.
I can see more clearly with the new RX, but I have a hard time focusing, I have to stop for a sec and let my eyes adjust when I look from near to far and vise-a-versa. Eventually my head starts throbbing and I have to take them off.
Again, thanks for the help.
Not much differenc between thost two scripts. There are about 15 variables in glasses design and RX is only one. Think of it this way you probably have a closet full of shoes that are the same size but they don't feel the same.
See if you can get your money back and go elsewhere or keep returning till you're comfortable. 'Ask about these variables: vertex power, base curve of lens, optical center alignment, pupillary distance, tints, coatings, pantoscopic tilt
