I have had nystagmus for 9 years and my neoru-opthamolgist (Nova Scotia, Canada) revoked my learner's driver's lisence and put a flag on my file so when I moved to another province (Alberta, Canada), I received a letter saying my driver's license is suspended indefinately here. I want a second opinion because I do believe that with enough training and self-discipline, I can drive! Does anyone know of a neuro-opthamologist in Calgary, Alberta?
No we haven't checked with the driving license bureau, i might send them an email in a couple of minutes seeing what's what. I will let you know what they say!
Thanks,
Ben
Ben it depends on a lot of things: where you live, what their laws are but especialoly on what your best corrected vision is. Most states allow driving with some mild restrictions up to 20/60 and major restrictions up to 20/100.
Have your parents check with the state drivers license bureau.
