scars on retina

when you say scar on retina, is that the same sa epiretinal membrane?

ive been doing some reading and research here on this website and it just seems that scars on retina doesnt exactly mean epiretinal membrane.

if ther are different, what are their differences?
can one be cured and the other cant?

thanks in advance for your answers?

I am over 3 months post RD (PPV w/gas bubble).  My vision has improved a lot and I can see the trees, houses, cars, colors, etc with the exception of this light gray area really close to the center of my vision.  It is also still little blurry with glasses but then Im sure my grade changed.  I was 500/625 before surgery.  I also had a small retinal tear on the same eye which my Doc lasered 3 weeks ago and my Doctor said I have NEW blood now because of this.  It took a while before my blood post-op started getting re-absorbed (2 months!).

The light gray area also SEEMS to be getting smaller VERY slowly but I cant be 100% sure and i dont want to declare it unless I see a big difference.  There is still blood in my eye and I still see specs/dust of blood floating around the light gray area as well.  It is also thinning on the sides but not the top part (the one close to the center of my vision).  When I try to read, I can see /read part of the words but not all.

In addition, I still have double vision when on the computer.  I also feels like I have an eye and a half working right now and I am thinking it is because of the light gray area blocking my vision that my eyes cant fuse correctly?  My vision is lopsided and weird.  I feel sometimesit might be better to close the operated eye (let it rest) and watch TV with my good eye.

1) Is this really blood blocking my vision still as what my doc said?
2) will this light gray area go away eventually?
3) what could this light gray area be?  what are the cures and prevention?
4) and my lopsided/weird/eye and a half vision, i just want to cry sometimes because I am hoping and praying this will go away and improve too as soon as the light gray area goes away and gets cured.  will this go away eventually as well or as soon as it gets cured?

Please let me know what you think and your thoughts.  I would appreciate it a lot.  I wont see my doc until a few days.  I am also sad about him since he is not so helpful and accomodating as a doc should esp since only he can answer questions about my eye for me.  I am doing reserach now  and am set to see another doc for a second opinion on the 14th.

Thanks sincerely.

1. ERM is not the same as scar on retina.
2. treatment of ERM and scar on retina varies. Sometimes it helps sometimes not
