One eye has cataract. But other eye OK. Will it get worse ?

I am 46 year old male, in India, work with computers. I have had retina detachment surgery (laser) in both eyes 10 years ago due to impact. Since one year I have a matured cataract in right eye and a tolerable cataract in left eye which is nearsighted. I suspect I got cataracts due to use of Dexamethasone ( cataract , a known side effect) as a part of an year long therapy. I guess at my age there is no other reasons to get cataracts. My both parents had good eyesight. ( no early cataract.) I had finished the therapy year ago. I have recovered fully and there are no health issues. Hence I guess there is no immediate reason to get cataract worse. Also I have noticed that since past 4 odd months, my cataracts are not getting worse.

My question is, at my age, how many years my left eye cataract, most likely remain tolerable?  (Since I am thinking of going for a cataract surgery for only right eye with monofocal set for near or distance vision)

There is no way to answer your question because it varies from person to person.   Eat a good diet, lots of vegetables and a great diet, don't smoke, don't drink alcohol excessively (>2 drinks/day) don't get obese protect your eyes from intense sun exposure, take a daily multivitamin. all of these will slow cataract progression
