It would be possible but not likely worth the risk. the IOLs used 20-30 year ago still give great sersvice and if not causing problems we don't exchange them for newer technology.

Thanks...oh and if i might ask one last question on this:
If better iol technology comes along (say in the next 5 to 10 years) would an iol exchange be possible years after having the original surgery?
I have read that there are some interesting developments coming along for the near future...
Thanks...
You're welcome and good luck.

Thank you Dr. Hagan...you gave me a lot to think about....appreciate your help!
Every surgeon will have his/her own comfort range but I doubt any would do lasik enhancement for a 0.25 diopter change. 0.50 is minimimum and most would want 0.75 or larger.
Remember that anytime you change your refractive error you lose something. So that in the reading eye if you lasik off -0.50 of myopia you will lose that for your near reading vision, your reading distance will be moved away from you and some tiny print that you could read before will no longer be able to be read.
Know what you're getting into.

I made an appointment and will be seeing him in about a week...perhaps you misunderstood me...we did blended vision....he used an acrysof toric which corrected me to 20/20 in my dominant right eye, and purposely left me nearsighted in the left eye (by using an under corrected lens) equal to roughly about 20/150...
My combined vision (both eyes) is roughly about 20/30 when i read the eye chart...
Of course, if i look at the chart with ONLY my right eye i can read the smallest line on the eye chart and it is crisp and clear...
If i just look with left eye alone at the chart it is very blurry..i can just make out the biggest letters on the top...
I can see distance, mid and even read the smallest line on a reading chart...
Which is all great, but the problem is that i get a slight blur effect in all 3 ranges...
What he did was try an experiment and moved (the left eye) up to what would be like having 20/100 in the left eye...
Then i could see distance and mid range razor sharp...at the cost of losing most of the reading capability without glasses...
So, if i did the lasik touch up..he would be moving me up .50 diopter (in the left eye)..
the question i was actually asking you, i what is the minimum you can do a lasik touch up for? is it .50 diopter or can you even do .25 diopter?
(Then i would get some glasses made to that .25 diopter difference just to see how my vision would be in all the ranges)...
Hope that explains it better...bear in mind with all the information i gave above...i am talking about my vision WITHOUT wearing any glasses...just the corrections i have with my IOLS...
You need to review this with your surgeon.
