Are my problems visual or neurological?

I want to say thanks ahead of time because I have seen a few doctors and have received little feedback.
My problems started in July about six months ago. I started having vision problems, I have 20/20 vision and did not require glasses but the problems I experienced were a quick onset of blurred vision and almost a feeling of being slightly drunk, though I was not. The problem progressivly became worse and I experienced this sudden vision change happening more frequently. I went to an eye doctor and he said that because my mother has a slight lazy eye I might need to do "pencil push ups." He said my vision was excellent. the thing is, I can read and see but I can't.  Its hard for me to explain, it's a slightly dizzy, can't control my eye balls, feel as though they are crossing (though others say they are not) kind of feeling.  I went to my family doctor for a check up and blood tests because I have also felt weak and tired lately as well.  the blood tests were fine, and she ordered quite a few.  she suggested that I see a better eye doctor, and I did.  He gave me glasses with prisms and said i didn't need to come back.  the glasses don't seem to help.  is this problem possibly neurological, or in my head.  I teach young children so it's difficult having this problem. it's a matter of getting my quality of life back and I don't know what to do, or which doctors i should be seeing. I must say this is no way to live. Please help.
Thankfully,
Sarah

Thank you sir for your response. I just have a few questions. First, I looked up (briefly) strabismus and I was wondering because I am 25 and my eyes do not actually looked crossed, if this condition would still apply to myself.  I have never experienced this before six months ago.  I believe the doctor that I saw told me I had binocular diversion, but I may not have that right. I do agree that it must have something to do with the muscle control of my eyes because it's as if i can focus on one thing but in that quick fraction of a second that it takes to look from one thing to the next--I find myself in a blur.  To recap: can an adult suddenly obtain this eye problem and do my eyes have to actually be crossed permanently for this to be the condition that I have. ?
I want to thank you for your time, it seems that the doctors I have encountered have been short with me and do not seem interested in looking into my problem.

I suggest you see a pediatric or adult strabismus doctor.
