Slowly swelling eyelid

Hi, my right has been gradually swelling for 3 days now....It is not very big, but it's painful especially when I close my eyes. It's a little bit red. I don't know if it's because of my glasses since I used to wear them only in class. I recently decided to wear them all day. I haven't worn them since the swelling. And, now I have to use sunglasses because it hurts when it's sunny outside. Please help me. My friend told me to put a cold compress on it. Would that work? Thank you.

This is not related to glasses use.  Please seen an ophthalmologist ASAP.

I'm a nurse, not MD, but would suggest you see a MD immediately.  I had this condition once when I was in my early 20s, and had to go on steroids for a like 10 day trial, and it went away - it was some sort of allergic reaction.  Don't delay. Yes, cook compresses will help, but it might not take it away.  Get to a doctor.   B
