The Best eye care

I have cognitive nystagmus and astigmatism. I have been trying to get my license but my sight is not good enough. What would be the best eye care for someone like me to get a license. I really do want to be able to drive. I heard that you may be able to wear contacts and glasses at the same time. Is that true and would that be the best option for me?

I suggest you ask your personal physician to refer you to an Occupational Therapy department or a rehabilitation institute that has a drivers rehab course. In Missouri I found them very helpful especially after strokes and injuries.

First you need to know what your BEST CORRECTED visual acuity and visual fields are. Talk with your doctor about doing everything possible to get the best vision possible. Some people do require the use of both contacts and glasses simultaneously to get the best vision. Then you need to know what your state's DMV criteria are for driving with visual impairments. Some states let you drive with biOptics.

The important thing is to talk w/ your eye md. Make sure you know what is going on w/ your eyes and that you're getting the best treatment.
