Recovery time after vitrectomy

After my vitrectomy with gas bubble for a macular hole my vision in that eye was very poor & it was like  looking through a thick fog. 3.5 days later I can see  blurred shapes with a little colour in closeup but distance practically nothing. My eye is half closed & blood shot. Is this normal? Going for my post op checkup Weds week. Would like to hear other people's experiences, please.
